We want your opinion!

We are on the hunt for a new vacuum cleaner. We have not had good experiences with the products we have owned in the past. (It may have something to do with the operator, but I don't think so.)

Anyway, please tell us what has worked best and least for you and why.

I have a hoover wind tunnle. I love it, the only neg thing is that it does loose suction if you don't keep filter washed. If you do, you get suction back. I love it because I can watch it pick up the dirt out of the carpet. There is something to say for seeing the cleaning process, it just feels cleaner.

We were given an Oreck vacuum cleaner as a wedding gift 10 years ago. It has been awesome. I used to think who would pay $300-$350 for a vacuum cleaner but given the fact that those new Dyson one's are $400+ it makes my Oreck seem inexpensive. The Oreck store by Collin Creek mall is where we go occasionally to get it serviced which is always free. One time the cord had worn thin from wrapping it around the little hooks when finished vacuuming we took it in, they replaced the cord and put on a new belt for free. Both Carolyn and Amber have the same vacuum and they've had nothing but positive results from there too. So, I recommend spending a little dinero to get a good one like an Oreck. Oh, and they are very lightweight, can get into hard to reach places and pull dirt from all the way down to the carpet pad. Good luck, let us know how it turns out. P.S. As a bonus ours also came with a handheld vacuum that has all kinds of attachments handy for small clean up jobs.

WE don't have one yet Sharon, but we have friends that LOVE their Dyson's. I know they are expensive, but it seems that they are worth it....I am hopeful we can get one for the CAT HAIR!!

When I worked at a Gift Store 10+ years ago...the store had an oreck. It's the best on the market, expensive, but the BEST. The Oreck will pick up anything in it's way.

I really like the one we have the housekeeper I had recommended it....Sanatare or something like that I know I completely spelled it wrong (lowest model is ~100) and It is GREAT! Got it at Steve's Vacummes NW corner of Parker and Independance. Customer service is GREAT too! They have the others people have mentioned too.
